Our gates, particularly our hardwood gates are extremely heavy. It is important that your gate posts are strong and we are happy to advise upon the size of gate posts appropriate for each gate.

Stains and Preservatives
We offer an optional gate treatment service to all our customers which, for our softwood gates, includes several coats of Four Seasons colour stain, which is a micro-porous, decorative finish for timber that gives protection against decay and the effects of weathering and for our hardwood gates, several coats of Tung nut oil, which is a high quality, pure, naturally water resistant oil.
Alternatively you may wish to add the finishing touches yourself. Stains can add a wealth of character and charm to your gate. You may wish to purchase our quality wood stains and finishes to make your gate fit naturally into your surroundings, please ask us for a price.
